There is a full set of the SRT system for sale within an hour drive of me. Seller is currently asking $3,000. Is this a good price? I've always wanted to own a set. Is the upgrade from the RT5000 system worth it? I'd be driving them with an Adcom 7500 amp.

One update re: my pricing question. The set includes: L/R/C with the two subs and two control center units. No rear speakers (but I imagine my FX1000's would work OK with them?

I would think it would be a significant upgrade. While I like the RT300p's, there is just somehting about owning a "reference" system :) The FX1000's might even work better as surrounds than the rears the SRT system originally came with.

Let us know how the endeavor goes

How are the SRT's musically? I use my HT system as a 2-channel system as well. Does the price seem fair? I don't know what these have sold for recently.

The price is a little steep for me, for just the front stage. But maybe that's just cause I couldn't swing it right now, so I'm being cheap.:D

As far as musicality, they ain't too shabby. Lot's of presence, Damn good SDA. I think you'll like them...

The SRT system is equally good for music as well as for movies.
