Backyard setup for my mom.
I just hooked up a system in the backyard for my mother. It consists of the following:
2 omage outdoor speakers (the look like rocks). I can't remember the model number but there is a 6.5" mid and separate tweet. (can't remember price)
Pioneer DV-C302D DVD player for the music (no longer needed for indoors)
Denon PMA-320 2 channel audio receiver. (10 dollars at yard sale)
The speakers are just past the deck up on a hill. They end up being at ear level when sitting down. They are spaced about 30' apart and about 25' from primary seating area. For the amount of money spent on the speakers I am thrilled with the sound. Much more than I expected. Very wide soundstage, detailed lows, warm highs. I'll take a picture of the setup when I can.
I would take this idea of having the speakers fire back towards the house than having them mounted to the house. I have experienced both setups and this one creates a much more "enveloping" experience.
