The Hammer

The Hammer - A movie no one has ever heard of probably. It's an independent movie that Adam Carolla created, and I only heard about from his radio show podcast. It got good enough reviews on various different websites that I figured I'd give it a blind buy. I wasn't disappointed. Very funny, a nice story, both with the boxing / underdog storyline and the little love story he throws in, and it's only an hour and a half long and feels like less. How often do you finish a movie and wish it was LONGER?

Look, people think of Carolla, they think of some misogynist from the Man Show or something silly, but this movie is very funny, not at all raunchy or what you'd expect, and has a surprising amount of heart. Almost every review (from people, not critics, though critics were also very positive) you read is positive; I have yet to find a negative review of this movie from a viewer. It's an independent movie so give it a shot.

I think for rental it's exclusive to Blockbuster (though it's also on Netflix so I guess exclusive doesn't mean what it used to), but it's worth a buy if you're at all interested.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

The problem I have with it is that AC is acting in the movie. That guy is so annoying, I can't get past it.

Did you watch it, or just basing off of other things? He's better than you'd expect.

Watched it last night. It was hilarious. I watched it alone but I was laughing out loud often. Very well written movie. I thought Ozzie was a great addition.

Anyone else think the PQ was bad/really grainy? Or is it just me?

PQ wasn't good, but the movie was independent, so they didn't have the budget for the highest end equipment or editing.
