My sub (KEF PSW2500) allows you to set the Slope to 12 or 24db.
the paltry instructs say: 'Slope:Used to adjust transition between speakers and subwoofer."

Can someone tell me what I should set this to for my Polks? and perhaps why?
LR Setup:
Polk RTi10's, RTi6's, CSiA6 (5 ch setup)
Onkyo 705 & Denon 3808ci Receiver, Onk 875
Parasound 2250 Amp
Sony 26" KDL series Bravia LCD
Panny DMR-EH75 Recorder
Panny DVD-F87 (5 disk DVD player)
NAD T585 (DVD/SACD)
Yamaha DVD-C961 (5 disk SACD/DVD)
SciAnt Explorer 8500HD Cable Box

Plans/Fantasies:
• 400 disk player that handles ALL formats, sounds as good as NAD with Panasonic interface & compatability.

What are your mains? Frequency response?

Personally, I play around with difference crossover frequencies & slopes until it sounds transparent to me.

I'd use 24 dB/octave. It's a steeper roll off, you'll get less lower midbass information that may attract attention to the sub. Most subs in the midbass are really muddy sounding and are better left to the main speakers to reproduce.

Thanks Eric - that's one variable I can stop playing with.
