My RT's sound more expensive with time...

It's an interesting thing, but my speakers (see signature) just keep sounding better and better with time and technology. These speakers played VHS movies in Dolby Pro-Logic through a $300 receiver, and sounded pretty good at the time. As I've evolved my system through numerous receivers, dvd players, etc, about the only component that's remained constant through all this is my speakers. Now with my Parasound gear and high definition lossless media, my speakers sound 10 times better than they did years ago. Garbage in, garbage out I guess. I remember demo'ing a B&W CDM in my home and comparing them to my Polks and thinking...the B&W's look really cool, but they don't sound any better than my Polks....where's the 1000's of dollars more money?

Anyway, interesting how technology in pre/pros and HD media can rock your speakers in a whole new way! :)

I'm glad you're stoked with your gear after all these years and hope to feel the same in a decade. The more I listen to my RTi6s, the more I love them and realize there's nothing I've heard (LSi series included) within ~$500 that can touch them.

Kinda miss my old RT16's...wish Polk would have done something other than cover the cabs in that vinyl crap. Other than that, they were a great speaker.

I had a pair of RT16s. They had the clear sound Polk is famous for.
