Hi Guys im from the Car Audio forum, so im not to much Into Home Audio, so maybe this is a dumb question
Last weekend I visit the mall and see some nice clearance offers, they had 4 home theatres on sale:
Onkyo HT-RS800
http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=HT-SR800&class=Systems&p=i
Onkyo HT-RS700
http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=HT-SR700&class=Systems&p=i
Yamaha YTH-1805
http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/product/av/products/ht/yht185.html
Harman Kardon CP something
no url but 30 watts x 5 and a 100 watts active subwoofer
I have to stick with these 4 options since I live in Mexico City (not to much home audio brands here), and I dont want to spend more money on a recent model.
Facts:
Harman and Onkyo RS800 are almost same priced
Yamaha is way cheaper
i think the Onkyo sounded better in general (i dont know for sure)
Onkyo RS800 is 7.1 vs Yamaha and Harman and the other Onkyo wich are 5.1
Onkyo RS800 have Audyssey EQ (i have it on my car and I love it)
Harman looks so nice, and its smaller
I need it mostly for music (70% Music 30% Movies)
Harman subwoofer sounded very nice (maybe my perception)
the listening test, its not good because:
most of the audio equipment to listen is broken (i will buy it new)
there were a lot of ambient noise at the time
a few tweeks on the reciver can make a difference if you know how to do it (I dont)
im also want to know the quality of the electronics
PS: If I had the money I would buy all the LSi Series, since i have all Polk SR on my car, but i dont want to spend too much on home audio, I just want to take advantage of the special offers on my local shop.

I'd probably go with the Onkyo 800 followed closely by the Harman, then the Onkyo 700, then the Yamaha.Currently listening to:
Marantz SR5004
Sony BDP-S370
Apple TV V2
Audio Technica AT-LP120
Mirage CMD-5 x 5
Bic H-100 -
Onkyo does make one of the best HTiB's out there. Their speakers are pretty hard to beat for the money that you're spending on the complete system. No, they aren't Polks, Klipsch, Paradigms, Bostons, etc, etc but they will get you along quite well.Richard? Who's your favorite Little Rascal? Alfalfa? Or is it........................Spanky?.................................Sinner.
