I am planning to revamp my HT setup. I currently have the Rti10s, Csi5 and fxi3s and rti4s. It sounds great. How much of a difference would I see if I upgrade to Paradigm Studio 100 v4, C-690 and ADP590s?

Thx.

Probably a huge difference from what I hear about the studio line.
Im looking to upgrade my rti setup also. After hearing my friends Definitive technology bp7002s.. Blew me away!!!! I guess you have to pay to play, considering my rti8s only cost 330 w/shipping.

Studio's are pretty impressive. They seem to compare more to the Lsi series in terms of price, fit/finish, performance. Easier to drive (I think they are 8 ohms opposed to 4 ohm Lsi's), but the sound is subjective.

The cost of the 100v4's is pretty stout, if I remember correctly. Should've gotten that deal on the s8s someone here sold for like $1K.

I see problems with the studio series in my family room.
First off is with the C-960. The problem being that there is no place for me to fit this monster in my setup. I have a Bello TV stand that has top shelf capacity of 125 pounds (which is less than the combined weight of my 46XBR4 and the C-690 assuming that i would place the TV on the C-690) or I could wall mount the TV and place the speaker on my TV stand just below it which would cost more money.
Second is the space between the back wall and the front speakers. I can at the max bring them out to 1 foot from the back wall. Anything more and they would be too much in the front. I believe the studio 100s need at least 2-3 ft spacing from the walls.
I guess its going to be a difficult decision to upgrade given the limitations of my room and improvement in SQ.

I would look at moving from the RTi line to the LSi line of Polk speakers. The LSi line might be more adaptable to your living space and stand.

I suggest trying an amp on those speakers before you upgrade. Never know what the sound may be like afterwards. If you have an amp on them already then sure go for the LSi's and still use the amp.

I am using the emotiva XPA5 in my setup and it sounds good. But as you know the grass is always greener on the other side. Fronts and sides powered by the XPA5 and the rears by the denon 3808ci.

I listened to the Paradigm Studio 100 v4 shortly after they came out. I liked them just fine, but thought their mids & highs were similar to RTis. I think they have more bottom end than RTi10, but then, that's why they make subs. As always, your ears may hear it differently.

    Cheers, Jim
