Wow, my ears still hurt. My brother in law just popped in to brag up his new car audio system he bought ($1,500ish). I did not get the full run down but it was something like 4 Polk Audio (new line launch) mids and 2 tweeters (some unknown brand upsell) and an Alpine receiver. So, I was sitting here chilling to some 10k maniacs (lsi9's and hsu sub) and I asked him before he left if i could sit in said car and "give it a listen". Oh my god, trebile out the wazzu. As I listened to Bob Marley, at least I think it was Bob, because all I heard were cymbals jetting directly into my still ringing ears. After the normal friendly time span I asked him "What are you're tone controls set at?" So he shows me treble=+6 and bass=+2. Mind you the tweeters he bought sit right at ear level (in the car door) I suggested treble defeat like -4 and flat bass. And what do you know he did it and liked it, now his car actually plays music instead of Bose 2 inch cube treble bullsh@t. Why do so many people who just dont know audio think treble is music and jack treble to full? I guess Bose learned this through thier "pscho-accoustic" research (marketing). Wow my ear actually hurt from Bob Marley lol.
