That comment is of a tone and idea, typical of someone who passes judgement before actually trying to understand a situation, or in this case, person. George Carlin (in his later years especially) simply made light of things we North Americans tend to take overly seriously, by introducing an alternative point of view. I would love to see a quote of his that shows his blatant and unwarranted attack on an undeserving individual, as you generalized in your comment, that he based his act around.

And... Even if you do seem to dig up some sort of obscure reference to back up your comment (that wouldn't be at all a testament to his overall mentality and focus of his craft), don't forget that he was a comedian who was one of the most respected among all other comedic greats.

Finally, since you decided to make your uninvited, and clearly unique comments, a part of this discussion; allow me to quickly make a judgement call on you in a similar light. You seem to be a very idealistic person, who chooses to be ignorant to the the ugly side of the coin as it were. You comprise a mentality standard of someone who believes what the government says, is generally close minded to any new situation, and who truly thinks that there is little wrong with the society in which they live. Either that or you are very religious (despite expressing happiness from the loss of another person), and (separately, NOT because of), you simply cast judgement on those who do not share your belief without bother of the slightest attempt at understanding. (I have run into people who are the latter. Carlin's stance on religion was well known and certainly not always agreed with).

I anxiously await retort. But note: I am not attacking here, but offering up my own personal opinion on how your mind works based on your seemingly uneducated statements. I am sure you are a stand up person who is indeed a pleasure to be around.

George Carlin (in his later years especially) simply made light of things we North Americans tend to take overly seriously, by introducing an alternative point of view. (You mean left wing anti establishment like you). I would love to see a quote of his that shows his blatant and unwarranted attack on an undeserving individual, (listen to any interview he did after 9/11 and tell me who he blamed?)as you generalized in your comment, that he based his act around.

Finally, since you decided to make your uninvited, (uninvited? I didn’t know I needed an invitation from you or anyone else to post my opinion as others did) and clearly unique comments, comments (unique? Yea, I’m the only one in the world who has the opinion that Carlin was not funny) a part of this discussion; allow me to quickly make a judgement call on you in a similar light. You seem to be a very idealistic person, who chooses to be ignorant to the the ugly side of the coin as it were. You comprise a mentality standard of someone who believes what the government says,(You mean like an evil Republican?), is generally close minded to any new situation, and who truly thinks that there is little wrong with the society in which they live. ( You couldn’t be more wrong as this country is screwed and heading for disaster). Either that or you are very religious(DING DING DING- There it is in a nutshell. You are just one of the left wing loons who blame everything on the religious right and the neocons. I can assure you I am neither. Not even close. What I am NOT is someone like you who is intolerant of others when their opinion is not the same as yours, which is ALWAYS a clear sign of the intolerant left) (despite expressing happiness from the loss of another person), and (separately, NOT because of), you simply cast judgement on those who do not share your belief (Now this is great, I believe it is you who is casting judgement on someone who does not share your belief) without bother of the slightest attempt at understanding. (I have run into people who are the latter. Carlin's stance on religion was well known and certainly not always agreed with).

I anxiously await retort. But note: I am not attacking here, but offering up my own personal opinion on how your mind works based on your seemingly uneducated statements.(you mean my opinion, to which I am entitled). I am sure you are a stand up person who is indeed a pleasure to be around.

I love how so very few of your comments show any attempt at trying to understand what my point was. You read what I wrote without understanding what I wrote, and did your best to tear it down (familiar words?). I do understand how everyone is entitled to their own opinion and encourage it. However, I do find it sad that people need to throw around their opinion (or in your case, accusations) with no backup, proof, or even ability to discuss it in any way. You are clearly a very closed minded individual.
As pointed out in my final sentence of my previous post, I openly assumed you were a decent person. I didn't attack you in any way and simply offered up my own opinion. Rather than respond in kind, you simply tried to break apart my response; It is too bad you are not bigger than that. After this post I don't see a point to respond to any of your future comments as any attempt at discussion with you will simply go nowhere. I have but one question for you, and please, this time try to actually think of a response before you mash the keyboard with your head:

Are your comments in this thread an example on how you "focus on the positive aspects of the journey we call life" or are you just making feable attempts at making others as angry as you really are inside?

    I'm out.

George was one funny, cynical ****, regardless of where on the political spectrum you call home.

I understood everything you were trying to say and once again you responded to my answers with indignation because you don't like what I have to say. As for your non attacks, well if you read what you wrote the attacks are there. And as for your encouraging other peoples opinions, I'm sure you do, as long as they agree with you. You call me closed minded but I am willing to exchange opinions while you are not. I could go on but its too nice out and I'm going to put the top down and enjoy the day. Do me a favor and put me and everyone else who disagrees with you on your ignore list. That way you can enjoy this day and the rest as I do.
