KEF PSW2150 vs. Polk PSW404

Title pretty much says it all. I'm running the speakers in my signature. I'm using the KEF PSW2150 (250 watts RMS I believe). I was looking to upgrade to the Polk PSW404 (or 505), but wondering if it really matters? Are subs pretty much the same, minus wattage and frequency response? Does anyone have experience with either of these subs?
Any helpful hints to a newbie will be appreciated.
Also, I've been reading on some people having 2 subs in their setups. I was under the impression that the ear "can't" determine where very low frequencies are coming from. Or is the point of having two subs to increase the volume/wattage?

?
No, subs are not pretty much the same. Small subs will never be able to go a deep as larger subs (yes size does matter with subs). Enclosure design, driver design and amplifier design will all have a huge impact on the quality of bass.
Do you want a sub to blurp out 30-50 hz booms, or do you want a visceral, flat bass from 15-100 Hz that will shake the foundation of your house? -

Wow, two replies in one day, only a month later!! (LOL)
I'm pretty content after having lived with this sub for a while now. It does shake the foundation (literally).
