I am considering re building my old 10B's, mainly to improve the look of the cabinets. (to please my wife)
I would like to adjust the cabinet size whilst maintaining the original volume.
Will I be able to alter the position of the two mid range cones i.e vertically off set? Any info or help would be appreciated

Why not just buy new WAF speakers and keep the 10B's original? That's going to alter the sound of them quite a bit I would imagine. Not saying it wouldn't work, but I wouldn't do it myself. YMMV...
Richard? Who's your favorite Little Rascal? Alfalfa? Or is it........................Spanky?.................................Sinner.

First welcome to Club Polk. Many here would say leave them alone, but sonic improvement can be had by doing an MTM setup. Make sure your cabinets are well braced. The one problem you are going to have is the PR is 10 inches. This would still yield a fairly wide cabinet.

Couldn't the passive side fire like the LSi15's?

Cabinet would be deep, but not neccesarily wide...
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

Sure could, but front, or rear would be better. If the cab gets too narrow you would have to go fairly high to keep the volume correct. When I was doing custom SDA stuff box volumes of 1^3ft were recommended per driver. So a 2^3ft box would work well with those drivers.

Take a look here at the middle pic.
    http://www.polksda.com/pdfs/RTA_TL_Sales_Brochure.pdf
    You could build them 38*12*12
The single 10" PR would work well. Keep it rather low in the cab. The PR is out of phase of the 6.5's at certain frequencies. Make sure you brace i very well. Use Poly Batting material behind the 6.5's and you should be very content.

A possibility. Thanks for the links. Your project is awesome (and scary) but inspiring.
