I offered these previously and ran into problems. F1Nut inspected them for the buyer and decided they did not meet the buyers needs. They are up for sale now at a reduced price.

Here is the original ad:

I have a pair of 1C's for sale.

They are in good condition except for the following:
*One oak top has a water stain
*One woofer is missing
*Tweeters are missing (need two per cab or 4 all together)

These look good, just need 5 drivers. Would cost about $250 to purchase new drivers or less if replaced with used ones. Worked well before drivers were removed for another project. Worth $600-$700 when repaired. Pin/Blade SDA connection.

$250 with local pickup in Frederick MD

Here is the correspondence with F1Nut:

Both the crossover boards were just hanging by the wires.
*Yes, they were hanging. The standoffs were lost and need replaced. We actually talked about that when you picked them up. The coils are held with the bolts through the back and the standoffs hold the board in place to the coil.

One resistor lead is broken.
*I was unaware of that. They actually worked fine. Maybe I broke it moving stuff around.

One of the large inductors was obviously broken with some attempt to repair it and as a result is now about 1/2" taller than the other one.
*One was repaired. It was glued back together then hot glued. I checked the inductance at the time and it still matched the other one. I thought it was a reasonable looking repair.

It appears that the smaller inductors on both boards came loose and needed to be resoldered to the boards.
*I had started re-doing the crossover boards and resoldered because it looked like a cold solder joint. I put hot glue around it to keep from vibrating. Again, I thought that looked reasonable.

I found another bad driver, a 6510 marked CRS+, which looks a helluva lot like the bad one that was in the CRS+'s that you sold me.
*That could be. I may have thrown it back in until I got another one. I don't remember. In any case I will pay for the replacement if its bad. (for this ad lets consider it is bad and you will need a replacement)

This was a project in process. Truthfully I don't see adding the standoffs as a big deal.

Given the sale price I don't think the problems you mention are a big deal. If you disagree thats fine. Feel free to discuss openly with the buyer. I have to wonder if you are being a little hard on the overall condition though. Take another look at them to decide.

So, what do we have here?

The differences between the original ad and what F1Nut found were the standoffs where the crossovers mount to the coils were missing, one extra 6.5" driver was bad and a resistor needs re-soldered to the board on one crossover and some parts of the xover were repaired by me. Also, he is not sure "if they even work". They worked when I used them, not really sure what else to say about that.

These will be held by my friend "a good guy in all respects" and available for pickup around Frederick Maryland. Actually in Woodsboro.

This is an AWESOME deal for someone!

$175 picked up locally.

Oh yea, when I found out the buyer was unhappy I refunded his money immediately before he even asked. These are now 1600 miles from where I live (I moved) so I'm over a barrel. If they don't sell I will have them disposed of. One cool thing I forgot to mention in the original ad is that one of the passive radiators is signed by Matt Polk in gold ink. They really do look and sound awesome (with some replacement drivers). I hate to have them destroyed. The interconnect cable is included.

Edit: Although not torn or anything I thought one of the grill cloths looked kinda dusty. Would probably vacuum up nicely, just not sure and a little nervous about sales around here at this point.

Seems like they must be taboo at this point. What a shame.

To be honest, I'd be all over them if I lived any closer. I like the rebuilding projects. Even though I already have Magnepans on my work bench :).
