is a m1.0t amp a good price at 200. I am thinking about buying and do not want to get ripped off.

Depends on the condition but $200 is reasonable. People have their own opinions about Carver but I have the same amp powering a pair of RTi10's and have been happy with it.

They are getting old now and if it's not guaranteed, you need to factor in the possibility of a service ($300) to bring it back to full new specs. The caps can begin leaking around this time as well as other items need to be adjusted or replaced.

That's a great price for an M-1.0t. The prices for vintage Carver gear have gone up in the neighborhood of 50% or more over the last year or so. If the amp doesn't have any major flaws, I'd jump all over it at that price. Like the Bunny says, figure on spending another 3 bills plus shipping to send it off to Hi Tech Audio for a refurb, and you're still getting a heck of a deal on a heck of an amp.
