I've got to say, that is very strange behavior. I've never heard of that either. I think it is most likely a problem with the 1963 electrical system in the house.

orgthtogod, do you experience your lights dimming occasionally, particularly when a high current appliance gets turned on?

While 800 watts is good amount of draw, it's still within reason, and should be fine for a typical 120 vote 15 amp outlet. If it wasn't, it would trip the circuit.

. .. I mean, there are some laws of physics here that should apply.

    Regards.

To put it "lightly" the electricity in my "1963" house SUCKS!!! It has always been an issue long before I ever got the Rotel. It is not uncommon at all to have "brown outs" and lights dimming at any given time... from time to time.

We have had to have the electrician out for various reasons and this is no exception. I appreciate everyones input but at this point, no matter how strange it may seem to anyone, this seems to be the point of focus. Once I have had the electrician out and the work is completed, things most certainly should be different based on results thus far.

As far as olilugo's question about "wow volume" levels, yes they are back within "normal" parameters, ie... -20 to -10 db levels. It's still not perfect, but again, once the electrician does his work and I have the "Magic Power" cord, I feel confident things will be as they should.

I'm fixing to pull out of town till Saturday, so I'll check back in with you later.........

    Thanks!

One last dinky test to rule out any problem with the amp. Send it to me for testing in my home for a few months. :)

Seriously - you seem pretty sure it is the circuits, but if you have just an ounce of doubt, plug it in at someone else's house if available

    Well,

After getting home from a really nice trip I was able to finally get to my electrical issues... and it was a success!

We had the electrician out and after getting all that done, hooking up the Magic Power cord and getting things dialed in, it's AWESOME!!!!! After all was said and done part of the problem was the electricity and the rest is just that, for whatever reason in some cases, I have to go beyond 0 db and into the positive db levels.

Now I've spoken to both Rotel USA and Yamaha USA and they both say that as long as the Rotel isn't kicking any protection circuits and the amp is connected through the pre amp outs, that there is no cause for alarm if I have to go into the positive db levels. This was a bit foreign to me at first but now that my mind has been put at ease and I know that there will be no harm done I can turn it up at will with no ill effects. In fact it's quite to the contrary!

The sound is simply phenomenal, just fantastic! I'm very pleased with the results and know that I will enjoy this set up for quite some time to come.

I'd like to thank all of you for your input and advice as well....

Now as soon as my speaker wires from Signal cable get here it will only get better :D

    Cheers

I have an RMB-1075 Pre'd by a Yamaha RX-V2500, all connected to a Monster power strip. Never had a problem from day 1, 12v trigger set to off.
Sounds great with my LSI's. Hope you get alot of enjoyment out of it.

So far soooo good!!! I'm anxious to get my new speaker cables and interconnects from Signal tomorrow!

I ordered the interconnects before but they were too short, so I had to send them back and reorder along with some bi-wire speaker cables for the front left & right along with the center channel!

I want to order cables for my sub's and I thought I should get some for the surrounds, but Frank said he wouldn't recommend that (for the surrounds).

Anyway, I've been enjoying my new toys immensely!!!

Realize that your 1075 is not sounding its full potential. Give it about 200 hours of break-in time and you will be very happy with it. Enjoy!!

    Farwalnut,

I'm curious... When you say, 200 hours of break-in time, does that mean 200 hours in "my" set up? Because I bought it used, in excellent condition, and I'm not sure how many hours it had before I got it but now you have me curious?

    Can you let me know?

    Thanks!

    Man,

This just keeps getting better and better! I received my Signal speaker wires for my front left, right and center channels as well as the interconnects (at the proper length this time) and BOY, I didn't think the difference would be this noticeable!!!

I was running monster speaker wire and interconnects before and thought it sounded quite good. I was not prepared for the very noticeable difference that was made when I hooked up the Analog 2 interconnects and the Ultra Speaker cables.... All I can say is WOW!!!!!

I'm using the Magic Power cord too, and now that I've been so bowled over by the difference of these few Signal Cable products, I'm planning on getting the Subwoofer interconnect as well. I really am truly impressed at the improvement in SQ, honestly I thought the change would only be marginal? However, now that I'm thoroughly convinced of the quality, I plan on going "Signal" all the way around!

Anyone using the Signal subwoofer cable that had something different before to compare it to? Again, I'm sure the difference will be distinct as it was with my other changes, but I'm just curious to here from any of you on this?

I actually am running two sub's so, I would be getting cables for both of them...

    Thanks
