Bi-wiring question.

I'm getting ready to bi-wire my speakers but I have a question on wire gauge size. I read somewhere that tweeters would actually work better with smaller gauge wire than a woofer would take. Would it make any sense to use 12 gauge for the lows and 14 or 16 gauge for the high end, or would I be better off using 12 gauge for everything?
Here is my equipment:
Kenwood VR-6070 Receiver
Polk RTi A5 Front Speakers
Polk CSi A4 Center Channel
Take 5 Sat Surrounds (for now)
By the way, I live in a condo so great sound at a lower volume is what I'm really looking for.
Thanks for helping....

IMO, bi-wiring is a total waste. I'd suggest replacing the stock metal plate jumpers with short lenghts of good speaker cable.Political Correctness'.........defined

If great sound at lower volumes is your main goal then I'd suggest using an external amp and use your Kenwood reciever as your preamp. A lot of people think that adding an amp just adds more volume, which it does, but more importantly the large amount of clean watts makes the drivers perform better: more detail, bigger soundstage, more clean bass, more holographic, etc.
