AFI's 10 top 10

I guess they got it right for the most part. I had some problems with a couple of categories. I know you have to give some credit to the older movies even though alot of the time newer ones do it better.

Westerns: 'Cat Balou' and 'Macabe and Mrs. Miller' in the top 10 westerns of all time. That is freakin' obscene! Anything Sergio Leone even thought about doing is better than those two. 'The Good the Bad and the Ugly' and 'Once Upon a Time in the West', just to name 2.

Sports: I was really missing 'Slap Shot' and 'The Longest Yard'. I could do without 'National Velvet'.

Sci Fi: 'Back to the Future'.........................NOT! Both 'Alien' movies could have been included. Both were very different and had different directors.

More to come, I'm still watching it.;)

I missed much of the show and I haven't checked all the runner up titles. I saw the winners of each category and had no issues with the selections, all top notch. I agree "Back to Future" shouldn't have made it in the top 20 but it was very popular. I love "Cat Balou" but maybe not what I would have thought included a list like this. Frankly Robert Altman is an acquired taste and I have no problem "McCabe and Mrs. Miller" made the list.

It seems like I am talking to myself mostly but what the flip was the 'epic' category. I think war movies should have their own................

    Okay I'll shut up now..............:o

    Every female alive?

Can someone post the list? Seems you have to be a member to view it on AFI's site.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Westerns- where was the 'Magnificent Seven' or 'Silverado'?

Sports - 'Field of Dreams' or 'Rudy'?

Oh GOD Field of Dreams could be the most overrated movie of all time. I'll admit it's nice when Costner and his dad have a catch. A very nice, touching moment. The rest of the movie? No thanks.

Agree, hated it. The wife annoyed the hell out of me.
