    In my magazine they say
    about $200
and thats RTR with a 12T motor, electronic speed control, 2 channel AM transmitter and a micro receiver. Plus the gearbox is able to handle just about anything you can throw at it. So if you want to go brushless with tons of power, theres no worries.

That's a lot of fun for little coin if you ask me.:)

I got a Kyosho Ultima. Fun hobby, but almost as expensive as real cars.

Hey, thanks for the link. $200 really doesn't sound bad! I wonder how much it'd cost to go with a brushless motor instead...

Simple question. If you had a cool million bucks, what would you do with it?

Budget is also 1/10 of fullsize.
    Sadly, I'm not joking.
    One good reason I stopped.

I've played with the Lynx electric on road racer (which is truely awesome) and have a big 4wd "USA 1 Kyosho" gas waiting for me to build it. The associated 1/12th electric racer was cool in the building where I used to work. Heck, even the RS series 4WD little racers are fun in the right area. Airplanes: never got more than 1 minute of joy out of them before crashing. Man, that can cost tons... I'm staying on the ground from now on.

If you go with the Traxxas Velineon system it will ony cost about $159 for the motor and ESC. However I would imagine within a few months they will probably offer it ready-to-run with the brushless setup and badge it as a Slash VXL. Usually buying it that way ends up being slightly cheaper. I would guess somewhere around $339.

Nice pix - all Traxxas. I take it your camera's date was off a bit as I believe the 4tec 3.3 and Revo 3.3 were not introduced until 2006.

Have a Revo 3.3 myself. I only wish my driving skills did it justice.

I like the revo 3.3 very versitile. You can race it out the box. Raise it and change the gears for rock crawling. You can bash it huge jumps and everything. Or drag race it. Plus replacement parts are very easy to get. I can break a part drive 2 minutes to the hobby store and be back up in running in no time.

I also have a Losi Truggy and Buggy very good company also but getting parts is another story. If i break it'll be a couple days at minimum before i'm up and running again.

And my GS STORM buggy 'oh my GOD' lets just say if it breaks plan on being down a looooooooong time .

Hmmm, that looks like fun. Might have to order one of those. I have a tiny one I terrorize the cat with.
That would be much less expensive than the real thing. I raced full size dirt and asphalt stock cars for years. Wish I had all the money I dumped into them. We used to say if you want to make a small fortune racing, start with a large fortune.

We just ran our first official race with them last night. It was a total blast!!! Nothing like a bunch of grown men giggling like school girls. I hadn't had that much fun in a long time.

I never thought I would say this.....WAY TO GO TRAXXAS!!!

One of the local racers shot some pics and video last night of our Slash bash. The video of the main is pretty dark, but has some good airtime shots towards the center. The qualifier video is the better of the two. The number 97 truck in the pics is mine.

    Enjoy!
