I picked up an amp wiring kit with 17' rca cables and they are about 18" too short so I want to couple the 17' with a 2' using some gold plated bullet connectors. What kind of loss in quality should I expect by doing this?

i dont think you will see much of a loss unless you use some REALLY bad cable.

Eh, you could lose some signal strength and possibly pick up some noise. Its best to run a single run of cable.
