I use a TFM-55 that I bought from Tom in my living room setup on a pair of SDA SRS II's and couldn't me more happy. Before that amp, I was using an M-1.0t on the SRS II's which also had run the SDA 1C's and other variations of speakers. My 1.0t was gone thru by Rita a couple of years back during the short time she and Mylinda had CCR but has now developed a very slight buzz. That amp isn't currently serving duty in any system and resides on a shelf in a spare bedroom closet...unfortunately.

I like Carver equipment also .
    I have a CT17 since new , not a problem ( hook up to a Bryston 4b and SDA 2b's ) .
Bought a TFM 35 off Audiogone about 5 years back for a back up to my 4b , great amp , runs cool all the time , running with a CT 7 black ( bought off Eprey ) , CT 7 is a fine peace of equipment .
In my truck a M 240 power amp , sweet sounding Car amp , never heard such a good sounding amp in a vehilcle .

This was one of many technological advances and innovations. Tip of the iceberg...

Many here are STILL listening to his work.

Well said Tom. Either you dig his stuff or you don't; it's up to you, your ears and pocketbook. I STILL have 'several' pieces of his gear, some I got from T-Rex. Are some pieces better than others...sure , if you can hear it. As I age I'm starting to notice it less and less or I have to listen longer and harder.

    But YMMV

But, after playing them for a few hours you should tilt yours up a little and put your hand on the bottom. That's where all the heat is. the top stays cool and the bottom gets hot!

Is this really the appropriate forum for such observations?? :p

H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music.
