What a week/weekend!

So, as of a couple weeks ago I thought I was all done getting bad news when my friend from work collapsed, was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a brain tumor. The first biopsy they took they said the results were inconclusive, and although it looked benign, they wanted to do another biopsy early last week.

On last thursday, my great grandmother, 98 years old passed away after a battle with brain and lung cancer herself. The wake was Friday afternoon and funeral saturday morning. While I was driving to the wake, I get a call from my friend with the brain tumor that the doctors have conclusive results this time and he is in Stage 3 brain cancer and will be starting chemo/radiation this this wednesday.

So already it was a very disappointing weekend to say the least and last night my ear started hurting me. I couldn't sleep and ended up with about an hour nap before heading to work today. I get to work and there is alot of chatter going on. Turns out a guy I eat lunch with every day(only a couple of us sit together) was murdered over the weekend by an ex-tenant that he had evicted 2 weeks prior.

The bad news just kept rolling this past week and come to find out I have a severe ear infection in my left ear and now im on meds.

What an insane week......brain cancer, death, murder....insane. :(

Needless to say, a few packages that were supposed to go out today didn't make it and I scheduled a USPS pickup for tomorrow so for sure they are going out.

Wow, you're having a tough time for sure Mark. My condolences for your Great Grandmother. But 98yrs old is not too shabby!

Aren't you a bit old for ear infections? How'd you get it? Take all meds & get some rest.

    Hope things get better soon.

thanks Capeteddy, the grandmother thing we saw coming for a while but the rest was shocking to say the least.

I hoping this is the end of the crap for a while.

I had everyones package ready to go this afternoon when I got in from work, shipping labels on and ready to rock, instead they sit in the same pile since i decided to go to the doctor early on after my last incident with the emergency room a few weeks ago.

I thought I was a bit old as well. I watched the celtics last night with no problem. Stayed up for a bit and my ear started to hurt, then it started to pound, and it kept me up till 2:30am, then I woke up at 4am and went to work. The pain was so unreal at work I didn't have a choice but to see a doctor.

Smart man. No point in trying to tough it out. I've had my ears go off when coming in for a landing on a plane. The pain was unreal I wanted to jump out just so I could get on the ground sooner! Some pains are just not fun or easy to tolerate!

The pain in my ****(pun intended) from the cyst I had a couple weeks ago was probably was the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. Ear infections I can deal with but it was throwing off my balance and making it hard to hear...so I figured I should deal with it rather than end up in the ER again when my ear blows up.
