The higher end older pioneers are nice too. Ft 900 or similar. Almost anything you find will need new bands and belts so make sure you find a nice rebuild kit on ebay or elsewhere. I did an FT900 or FT 950, forget which it was, and although a little tedious, it wasn't too hard.
madmaxVinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -
You're welcome. Love to see you using those little tape things. Find a Tandberg. Nothing clunks into gear like one of these. Hit "Play" and it's like a car door slammed. The ones I have are thirty years old minimum, and BOTH will still rewind or fast forward a 90 minute cassette faster than anything on the market, before or after. Great motors. TCD-310 is the model I have two of. They sound great also.

Sorry, I just got done burning all my old Kenwood and Pioneer decks in my backyard."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

Look on that auction site and see what unopened Sony Metal Master Cassettes are selling for. You'll **** yourself. Check the completed auctions for ALL metal tapes

I agree, people over at AK still go bonkers over those things."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -
And a lot go bonkers for 25wpc Pioneer or Sansui receivers too, so there's a limit to example.

You're going full speed ahead with this cassette thing; more power to you.

yeah i am.. foolish i know.. but I'm not planning to record anything.. just listen to a box of cassettes I found recently. Had it not been for that box of cassette tapes.. i'd never even have given it a second thought.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
