The higher end older pioneers are nice too. Ft 900 or similar. Almost anything you find will need new bands and belts so make sure you find a nice rebuild kit on ebay or elsewhere. I did an FT900 or FT 950, forget which it was, and although a little tedious, it wasn't too hard.

You're welcome. Love to see you using those little tape things. Find a Tandberg. Nothing clunks into gear like one of these. Hit "Play" and it's like a car door slammed. The ones I have are thirty years old minimum, and BOTH will still rewind or fast forward a 90 minute cassette faster than anything on the market, before or after. Great motors. TCD-310 is the model I have two of. They sound great also.

Look on that auction site and see what unopened Sony Metal Master Cassettes are selling for. You'll **** yourself. Check the completed auctions for ALL metal tapes

I agree, people over at AK still go bonkers over those things.

And a lot go bonkers for 25wpc Pioneer or Sansui receivers too, so there's a limit to example.

yeah i am.. foolish i know.. but I'm not planning to record anything.. just listen to a box of cassettes I found recently. Had it not been for that box of cassette tapes.. i'd never even have given it a second thought. ;)
