Denon DVD-3910 DVD-A/SACD Universal Player - 9/10 - Black - *SOLD* to Lasareath
This has been my HT reference player for a couple years. I'm moving my PS3 downstairs to take advantage of late night gaming and big screen viewing. I'm in between remodels and the shelf that F1Nut helped me build is at capacity as it is....so something has to go.
At the time, this player was in the family of bar standards for DVD reproduction. OPPO hit everyone below the belt but the Faroudja DCDi chip is still solid w/ an excellent picture. Another really nice touch is the machined analog outputs for 2CH. Even if you don't mod this unit, it's very nice sonically as well.
Here's the Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity, DVD Benchmark page. If you read about how the setup works, you'll understand this chart much better. The bottom line is, the DVD-3910 is excellent when it comes to video codecs(93) and TOTL in regards to audio from Denon.
Fortunately, since this is basically the previous flagship DVD-5900, it's turned into a blank canvas for the 2CH modified aligned. The sky is the limit when it comes to modified players and they hold the value pretty well. Here's a couple examples:
Underwood Hi-Fi
SACDmods.com
And here's a full blown ModWright version.
The stock player is already very well built and is naturally, easily modified.
The specifications can be found within the original link. Here are some Denon docs if you have specific questions about operation:
Denon DVD-3910 Owners Manual
Denon DVD-3910 Product Sheet
Denon 3910 IR Hex Codes
Denon Link Serial Protocol
All connections have been treated with CAIG Pro-Gold and it will be packed to withstand a nuclear blast.

Audioholics - Review - 2005
Includes: Original everything.

SICK player... I have a 2910 and love it. I also know the difference between this player and mine and it's huge! Someone should definitely pick this up.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener. -
Damn, vultures! I didn't even see the price, but I assume it was a really good deal like everything Doro lists. I would have bit on this if I had seen it in time and could convince myself that it would be a justifiable upgrade over my Pio 59avi in the video department. Always liked the classic look of these Denons. Nice grab

Sal, thank you for buying this, I almost jumped on it right after Doro posted."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

The 3910 is an amazing player. Try adding a Signal Cable Digital Reference Power Cord to it and see if it doesn't get even better! It did for me.____________________________________________________________
