Just curious if anyone remembers the company Speaker Lab? Back in the early 80s when I made my first set of speakers (the first set I made AND the first "real" set I had), Speaker Lab was big into kits and drivers. Pretty expensive as I remember - at least from my teenager perspective. They were in Seattle, I think.

Also.. anyone remember "Herald's Electronics?" They were in Ohio, I think.. wondering if they became Parts Express or Dayton Loudspeakers or anything like that. My first pair of speakers was a Herald's 12" long-throw woofer and a 1" Mylar dome. Parts purchased from Stereo Discounters.. I think they're gone, too, aren't they? Used to be in Baltimore, I think.

I remember both Speaker Lab and Stereo Discounters. SD was in my backyard and I know I purchased some stuff from them, but I'll be damned if I remember what. I liked to hang out in there place, not sure what happened to them.

I have a pair of Acoustiflex speakers. I think I was once told these were from Speaker Lab. I haven't been able to find out anything on Acoustiflex though.

My first stereo was purchased from Stereo Discounters in late 1984. It was a Technics system consisting of a 35 w/channel receiver, tape deck w/DBX noise reduction, a belt driven turntable and 3 way speakers w/12" woofer.

Man, I thought I was the **** back then!!!
