Searched for this on the forum and never found the answers I am really looking for.

My questions are:

1) What would be the better speaker for HT use? I plan on using a subwoofer either way.

2) What is the main difference/advantage the RTi12's have?

3) I have seen that a more people here have the RTi10, why is that?

I think that is all I got for now. Thanks for your help!

    2) 12's just got alot higher but need alot of power, cost 2-400 more.

    1) Toss up, both are good

    3) Were easier to find back earlier this year for cheap, got mine for 400 bucks, saved 5-600 easy. And most people found that the 12's are intimidating. I would take them now but the 10's shake my room and blast loud so I'm good.

    Sorry out of order.

    1) Technically, the 12's would be better for HT...
    2) ...becasue they have more drivers, (particually the 7" woofer) and can handle more power...
    3) ...which makes them more expensive, and thus more popular.

Either are great for HT.What size room? What other peakers would you be using? How will you be powering the speakers?

Both will do an exceptional job for HT applications. Best way to decide this is to listen to both and make your decision based on which one sounds best to you.

I listened to all 3 Rti floorstanders and found the 8's to sound too thin and the 12 to bassy. The 10's sounded perfect for my ears. You can't go wrong with either of the three.
