I came across a thread yesterday with a video of Sda's bumping and found that pretty cool. I dont know what you guys think, but i feel we should have a video forum where members are able to post videos of there systems and show what pictures cant describe. (not the music and video one)

I am not sure how we could implement one into the forum maybe some of you guys would know how or who to talk to.

What do you think?

Probably because there has not been a huge request for that. Members post videos from time to time whatever section on the forum they deem appropriate, and that seems to work fine. It's not a bad idea though if there is enough interest.

I'm pretty sure you can only embed videos in the clubhouse forum. At least that used to be the case.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Pretty pointless when you can't capture any sense of quality unless you have a crazy recording setup. Probably better to stick with host & post, and you also save polk bandwidth that way.

a video forum/thread isn't a bad idea.. but really this is an audio forum.. so I could go either way on that. I have more vested than some other's.. as I work with video every day.

what would a video thread talk about on here?

I really hope that's the mic clipping :( (but as the intro states - woofers popping, I'm saddened to see those speakers in that persons hands)

Fair enough, and yes I know that organ vibrating feeling very well (clubbing in Van). No replacement for displacement. That's a lot of surface moving at once.

In those vids it sounds like the mic is clipping or the drivers are bottoming out. I know when I recorded my sub hitting in the 130's it sounded terrible on film but it wasn't skipping a beat in real life.

Unfortunately his mic is not clipping...
There was so much air movement in my living room when I recorded my videos that it would shut down my video camera!, LOL, it just could not handle the pressure at all.
Thats unreal! I don't even know if my SRS'S are capable of doing that.

    No, I was. ;)

SDA's don't pop when driven properly. No, we don't need a video forum. You want to see SDA (or any other series Polk) drivers move, buy a pair.

I feel as though the video forum aspect would enable everyone to observe videos here on Polk. People would be capable of seeing and finding first-hand videos of their interests and hobbies and depict what pictures cant deliver. As more members capture interesting videos this may empower and inspire other people to do similar things that the video post revealed. I know from personal experience seeing Las’s video definitely made me want to have a pair of the big boys (which I eventually did get). At the same time this video forum may assist Polk Audio to distinguish themselves from other available forums. (Just a thought…

There would be 4 people posting videos in there, including you.

+1 dude you said it.. SDA drivers don't pop with the proper power behind them and no driven to insane volume levels.

If they can't hear the obvious distortion ( Being in the same room as the speakers of course.....everything recorded in these videos with 3 dollar microphones is going to be nothing but distortion ) before these drivers even get anywhere near or past their Xmech and bottom ( Pop ) , then they should be out mowing their lawns instead of destroying speakers.

Ever heard of Google or YouTube....................sure you have, that's where the stuff you mention belongs. Crappy video on the internet is everywhere, no need to clutter CP with it.

If you find something interesting post a link or embed it in the proper forum and then feel good about yourself.
