Question about SDA Signature Edition

I have them hooked up, interconnect cable plugged in, but seems like I have no bass coming from the right speaker. When I pan full left I hear that speaker plus some audio from the right speaker. When I pan full right I don't have any bass seems like just mids and highs. I also get sound from the left speaker. The fuses look good, I think the driver may be shot. Which of the speakers carrry the mid-bass or bass frequencies? I didn't want to open up the cabinet but I hear the potential of how they sound. Someone said they sound good, but knowing that the bass is not right annoys me. Any help would be appreciated. If I have to replace a driver anybody have any suggestions. Also I have read on this site that replacing the tweeters is a recommended upgrade, where do you buy thoses and what are you looking when you buy them.
Thanks in advance,
Ron Carter

Check for a frozen driver(s). They are often damaged during transport by dropping the cabinets.
New drivers are available from polk at $48 if you mention you are a polk forum member. The world is full of answers, some are right and some are wrong. - Neil Young -
I would personally pull the drivers one-by-one and check to see if they work. That way you will know for sure what works. I would also double check your placement of the speakers. They are supposed to be near the wall, but away from side walls. What model do you have?

Thanks for the response guys. The model I have are the SDA Signature Edition. From what I understand they were a transition model of the SDA 1.

Can you post a picture? We will be able to help you best if we for sure know what model you have.

Usually is you get not base it is a aie leak or bad driver. If you push gentle on each driver it should move easily and without a scratch feel. The passive woofer should move.

I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
when you pan left and right on the SDA's this is normal to get sound from the other speaker. at least the three pairs that i've owned did this.
if you're not getting any bass from one of them.. that means most likely one or more of your mid bass 6.5" drivers is bad. they are what provide your speakers with the air pressure that moves the passive radiator to produce bass.
as mentioned above. take one out at a time and hook the leads up to some speaker wire and play some music at low levels and see if it produces sound.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Take out the right side PR and check if the front section has separated from the back.Political Correctness'.........defined

Will do, thanks. I will make this part of my week end project. I am putting together a system that includes just old school speakers. My SDA's, Ohm Walsh 100's and a pair of Dahlquist DQ-10's. Just want to see how the different applications sound side by side with the same material. I hope I can get the SDA's operating correctly.

Well I learned something new. I didn't realize any SDA's had SL1000's.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks
