Bi-Amp Question - utilizing integrated amp

I wanted to exploit the full potential of my system on my new RTi 12 speakers.
Anyone familiar with bi-amping a Sansui AU-717 or AU-519? There's a switch on the back that allows for breaking the pre-amp/amp connection for such, but I'm not sure which setting to use.
1. connected
2. direct coupled
3. separated
4. capacitor coupled
I'd like to use the AU-717 to connect my CD player to and also for the volume control, then connect a separate power amp to the Pre-In/Main-Out on the back.
Anyone try this with a Sansui or similar Integrated Amp?
Here's a definition of the switch choices on the back of the AU-717:
CONNECTED means that the preamp is connected to the power amp internally. The remaining two positions disconnects the preamp from the power amp and allows you to input signals externally as follows:
DIRECT COUPLED: the unit's power amp works as a "DC" amplifier, or
CAPACITOR COUPLED: a capacitor is connected at the input of the unit's power amp.
Thanks !

why can things never be simple.
try them both, im not too sure to be honest with you but will the capacitor be there to remove any dc in the signal.
try them both with "lesser" speakers maby, hopefuly somebody here will be of more help.ELECTRONICS

.Just run two speaker cables to each speaker using the bi-amp terminals on back of the speaker, taking care to run positive to + and negative to -.You will have two cables coming from the Left terminals (on back of amp) to your left speaker and two cables from the Right terminals on back of amp to the right speakers.I have mine set up this way and it sounds awesome! You will effectively be running your speakers at 170 watts per channel.
Unless I'm misreading that, it sounds like bi-wiring, not bi-amping. -

A quick correction.The Sansui AU-717 Integrated Amplifier is listed at .0015% THD,not 00015%.
