Good 2 Channel Amp

Hey everyone. Still very new at this, but I'm looking for a decent 2 channel amp (hopefully somewhere between 200 and 300 watts a channel.)
I just got a set of RTi10s and not sure my Onkyo 705 is powerful enough. (Only 100 watts a channel when in 7.1 mode).
Please let me know if you have any, or could point me in the right direction. Thanks!
EDIT: Something around 300-500$ would be a ideal.
EDIT2: I'm located in Southern CA.

That is nice, I might say that's a bit in the high end. Something around $500 would be my upper limit.
(Is it possible to get a good amp for this amount?) -
Still think it's on the high end of the scale? This is not a cheap hobby if you want something good that will last for years & have the kind of power you want.
Your best bet is the last listing.

Also, for a heavy, well built, stand the test of time, amp. Check out the Hafler 200 or 500's.
I own the DH-200, and I cant kill it. Especially after a refresh.Monitor 7b's front

I understand that, but I can't justify spending close to double that which I paid for my entire 5.1 speaker setup on an amp.
The last one does look very interesting though. Thanks! -
Try to find a B&K amp (I know, I'm a broken record).
You can easily find a ST-2140 for $300 (125 into 8 ohms, 185 into 4), and it will be a big improvement over your AVR. If you can find one of their bigger amps in your price range, they will power the RTi10s very well, and even smooth out the highs so you can still hear when you're older.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

Buy both, resell the Pre for $200+.

Older, but very powerful.

The ST-202 and 202+ are older as well, but very well built and can power anything within reason.
