Amp for Lsi7s?

I have Lsi 7s with an hk 330 receiver. I can get an HK3385 for under $100. Will that be an improvement over the receiver? Do I need a stronger amp for 7s?

I have LSi9's on HK3485 and I'm a bit underwhelmed with the bass in a small room playing SACD's and CD's through a budget Sony SCD-C595. I'm not sure if whether an external amp or a subwoofer will help better. However, the LSi7's are not as difficult to drive as the 9's. Some say the 7's are more like 6 ohms speakers than 4.

I have Lsi7's in a small room with a subwoofer running off a HK 3480 (120wpc into 8 ohms, maybe 150 into 4).
Sound is great for music and movies. I could even get away without the sub for music and be fine, IMO. Would lack punch for movies, though. Soundstage, imaging, and detail are very good, though.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

I would spend my money on a little higher quality integrated amp. LSi7's are heavenly sounding on a good tube pre and quality SS amp (ie Dodd ELP and a Marsh A200). The 7's aren't hard to drive and are the most balanced sounding of the line IMHO.DKG999

Well I picked it up at Fry's they had a demo on clearance for $70. So far a nice improvement since the Lsi7s are the easiest to power of the series I figured this should be sufficient for now. I do plan on investing more on a better amp later on, most likely when I upgrade the mains to floor standers. It still bugs me that I was late on getting the LSI15's when they were $200 each at Fry's.Setup:

Thanks for the recommendation dkg, I picked up the hk 3385 right now because of the price I'll use them to power my Fxi5s when I get a better amp. The upgrade has made a quite a difference still feel there is room for improvement, but should get me by until I get some money saved up.
The Dodd ELP and Marsh A200 seem like a good combo. I am still pretty new as far as knowledge on home audio. I want to save for a high quality amp to power not only the Lsi7s, but I want the amp to be able to power a high-end pair of floorstanders.
The budget for the speakers is up in the air but probably $1k-$2500K depending on my budget it'll be at least a year or two before I make this purchase.
However I want to get an amp in the near future would this combo be good enough when I upgrade speakers later?
I am not familiar with pre amps or tubes. I am going to read the taste of tubes to get up to speed seems like a good source of information.
Anyways any advice will be appreciated.Setup:

What a bargain! Good for you. When I first got my LSi9, I used an Onkyo reciever. Not too bad. Also tried them on a H/K with same results.
If your new receiver has an output for an external amp, you can use the receiver as a pre. Won't sound as good as a dedicated pre but you'll get the power they need.
