Downsizing a Monitor 7B to a Monitor 4?

I have a set of 1983 Montor 7Bs which sound great but are too big for my space. I have been unsuccessful selling them here and am thinking about removing the tweeters, midrange drivers and crossovers and installing them in a bookshelf-sized cabinet. Can I use the 7Bs' crossovers or will the loss of the passive radiators and smaller box size screw up the sound too much?

All the crossover schematics you need are right there:http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38755
More than likely, it won't be right."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -
Why not just buy some Monitor 5's

I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
Monitor 5jr's would be super cool...the Monitor 4 stinks.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

He already has a pair of M4 cabinets."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

Monitor 5jr's are cool and I feel the best small option for that classic Polk sound. -
The original 4s were just fine, IMNSHO.
5jrs would be cool, though... or a pair of Mini-Monitors.
