Fellas:

I am currently in new HT construction. Being very novice at what is required for HT i asked a "friend" what kind of wire I needed for subwoofer. He advised to run RG6 and then purchase adaptor for ends. I ran it in three different places where i may put a sub. I have since drywalled and went to go buy the adaptor and dude at Circuit said that RG6 is for video not audio and I need to run digital audio type cable.
Can someone tell me which wire is the proper one for subs. I'd rather not take down drywall, but I will, if its best.
thanks, jammer

LOL yes Coax is fine for your sub. I use 3 pairs for a whole house system to send a source to an amp in a closet at home. Never an issue, just fine.

Either or is fine. Just don't buy anything from Monster.

    Ben,

The ones from AudioQuest where a push on connector which has teeth that allow it to go in one way, and not be pulled out. I assume those which I linked to are similar. You just need to cut cable to correctly to setup, but it would of been the same if I used a crimper style end instead.

Cool AQ stuff is solid except those flimsy nanners they used on some of their cables.

thx for the replies. I realize my minor problem was a no brainer for you guys but you saved me a lot of unnecessary work. thx again.

CC "expert" had me convinced I made a mistake. Now I'm debating going back there to put "dumb ****" in his place!

Sounds like he's already in his place.....a dumb-**** place.

So your gonna have to think of something differant perhaps reminding him that is why he is where he is.
