I have just joined the group and am glad to have a source for feedback and advice on vintage Polk Speakers. Living out here in the land of fruit and nuts (California ) you don't see as many local deals on Polk Audio vintage speakers. I owned a pair of Monitor 5's in the 1980's and sold them (stupid ) and was able to get a hold of a decent pair of Monitor 5 on eBay about six years ago. I would like to upgrade and would like a set of Monitor 10's, with the stands but with shipping from the East Coast is so expensive, it is putting a damper on my plans as most of the speakers up for sale on eBay are on the East Coast. There is a local person that has a set of Polk Monitor 12 RTA speakers that I can pick up for a decent price, and with local pickup but I never heard these speakers in person and I thought that I had read somewhere that the tweeters had a tendency to get blown easy. I do not play music that loud anymore (my wife thinks I do, but not like in the past ) --How are these speakers --are they similar in sound to the Monitor 10's ? Thanks for the info. Matt
