Want to buy a Wii

My daughter finished 7th grade with straight A's, and I want to surprise her with a Wii; not much for her in the Xbox platform, and she loves to play Wii at her friends house. I might do a little Mario Kart too.....

But......there are no Wii's available???? Checked Best Buy, Circuit City and Amazon and they are out of stock.

What's the deal? Has it been like this since it came out? Is ebay (at a premium) the only option????

Keep checking WalMart/Target. Also Costco/Sam's if you have a membership. I've seen them occasionally at all those places.

Also, the Gamestop employees were really easy to talk to about when they get/expect shipments. At least the ones around here.

They're still really hard to get. The suggestion of going to a Game Stop or a store like that is your best bet, because they can tell you when they'll get more in. Some will even hold one if you offer to put a down payment.

It's also good to go to WalMart Early in the morning or talk to the Electronics salesperson and they'll tell you when that stuff usually comes in.

It's kind of a shame it's still like this. :(

Target and Gamestop are your two best bets. Target receive their delivery on Saturday night, so Sunday is the stalking day.

Isn't it amazing that it is still like this after a year and half?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I checked Walmart online and they only have a $496 bundle option; nothing in Target.

I agree that it's unacceptable that after all this time there is limited availability, unless you are willing to pay a premium. The thing that bothers me is that it could be a game (pund intended) played by the manufacturer. Oh well. I have a GAmestop close; I'll check it out.

I bought a Wii about a month ago at Toys R Us. We went to a few stores and they were out of stock, but every place said they are becoming more plentiful and to check back every couple of days as they get shipments all the time. We then stopped into Toys R Us and they had just received a shipment the prior day and had many available. And we didn't have to buy some overpriced "bundle" doing it that way.

Yeah, WMart sucks for that deal... but I was able to order from Target (shipped two days ago, I hope) for my daughter as well :). $324 plus shipping. Sold.

FWIW, the guy I talked to in BestBuy claims that Nintendo only has 1 mfg. plant for Wii, thus the long
delays in stores getting them. Take that from where it's coming from, but I searched all over the area, and not one Wii could be found, so I believe him.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

The Toys 'R Us deal is solid if your bidding falls through. I just bought it myself (game is worth it).

I was outbid very quickly; it's stupid what people are paying for these things.

Order placed with Toys R us.

Mine got here yesterday. I was really surprised with the size of this thing. Haven't played yet, but Mario Kart looks great.

Mario Kart on the Wii is crazy fun! I played it for nearly 3 hours at a friends house last weekend. You'll definitely be happy (as will your daughter) with the Wii.

    Have fun!

Definitely different. Hard to get used to. My arm is sore as hell this morning from Wii Sports. :p
