I'm a bit sceptical about this. Its suppost to be "a highly interactive, monthly lifestyle gaming program covering the world inside PLAYSTATION". Except that there reserving the SOCOM beta and theme for people who pay for it. I know $2.99 is dirt cheap, but it's the principle. I like the idea of a news show that people can pay for if they want to but I'm afraid there going to start offering up more demos, add-ons and betas that would normally be free. It's a great idea, but free access to everything is one of the greatest parts of the Playstaion Network. Let’s hope they don't ruin that.

Man, you better not get Xbox Live. Those suckers charge you for damn near everything. I probably won't renew my 12 month subscription with Microsoft. Sony is great, but you are right. That is not a good sign. They may start charging us for every little thing.
    Main Set-up: 55" 120 hz Samsung LN55B650, Onkyo TX-SR806, Emotiva XPA-5, Emotiva XPA-2, PS3 Slim, Sony BDP-S560, Apple TV (160g), Panamax M5300-PM, Polk Audio CSi5, RTi10's, FXi3's, RTi4's, and SVS PB12 Plus

    Bedroom: Panasonic 50" S2 Plasma and Panasonic BD65 blu-ray player, Onkyo TX-SR707, Emotiva XPA-3, Emotiva UPA-2, KEF IQ7's, IQc, IQ8Ds, and SVS PB10-ISD

Why should either company give it away for free? None of the stuff on PSN or XBox Live is a necessity.

Because its simply a beta test. Why should people need to pay for that? They've never charged people for it in the past.

I hear what you're saying, but the free stuff was just the hook, and if you bit because of the free content -- well, then I get why you're upset.

Bottom line is they're going to make their costs up somewhere, and I am glad they're charging people usage fees rather than hitting everyone else regardless of whether or not you take advantage.

Thats true. As long as they don't go overboard with it. I'm interested to see what they will incude in future episodes.

Think of it more like a magazine, IGN Insider, Gamespot QA etc etc.

As far as the PSN service, the reason it's free is because it has to be. They don't have the userbase nor the attraction to bring in gamers to their network. Choice is awesome, but they have zero.. however if given the choice, they'd no doubt rather charge for it.

Will they in the future, possibly. I wouldn't put it past them.
I should've listened way back in 2008, they told me I'd go broke... they were right

    I subscribed to Qore.

    Impresions

+ Tons of exclusive videos and interviews. The kind you get for paying +$10 with special editions of games. quality stuff for only $25/year

+Navigation of videos is nice. There are about 6 videos for The Force Unleashed, and you can scroll between In game, interviews, the world, development very eaily. This format is better than special edition game DVDs I have gotten.

+exclusive content / betas. Socom beta coming.

+Host is fine. Not as straight to the point as Jeff Keighly, but she is clearly a gamer and not cliche female host.

    - 30 second ads in between content sections (i.e. going from the star wars videos to the downloads section)... you only have to watch about 10 seconds of them though.

I told you guys, it's begun.
    http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/06/27/naruto-demo-available-exclusively-in-qore-next-month/

The demo for the Naruto game is going to be exclusively in Qore next month. Not that I care about Naruto but they're starting to put stuff that should be free in there. It's turning into the Xbox live and no one wants that.
