Monitor 7 question

So I've been collecting as much information as possible on my circa 1987 Monitor 7Cs in the last week, getting ready to do the crossover cap swap.
The schematics for every generation of 7C I've seen here only show two drivers: The SL2000 tweeter and the MW6502 mid-bass driver, in addition to the passive radiator.
I just downloaded PDF copies of two generations of Monitor Series user's manuals, and both of them show a 10 inch fluid coupled subwoofer.
Was that the Polk Marketing Department's term for a passive radiator, or did the magnets, voice coils, fluid couplings AND third crossover sections dry up and blow away in the last 20 years? (can't you just smell the fresh sarcasm in the room? )

You can get a lot more done with a kind word and gun, than you can with a kind word alone.

All the Polk monitor 7 & 10s called their passive radiators fluid coupled subwoofers...
