I have a Bedat No1 man's watch I bought last summer that I'd like to sell. It's 18k yellow and rose gold. Brand new matte finish dark brown alligator strap. 18k yellow gold deployant buckle. I sent the watch in and had the movement serviced and the case polished. The watch sells for $11000.00 new. I'd like to get $6000.00 OBO.

I'd really like to sell this watch. Any interest?

Don't mean to be rude but I just viewed the website you listed and it shows the price of USD 7600 which means it would be cheaper in stores and who knows how much you could get it for in a jewelry store...

For some people a high end watch is worth the price this watch sells for. Those same people may question why we would spend $5K on two speakers.

Just kidding. Both linky no workie FYI. Also, you may get some interest in the watch if you had a pic of the actual watch. ;)

A fresh account with 100 posts and no sales history. I'd say your chances of someone handing over $6k on this audio forum for a watch are slim to null.

Ebay is probably your best option, or maybe a watch forum?

I wouldn't send anyone that amount of money on Ebay or a watch forum either. I would use a 3rd party escrow service for any online sale for that amount of money. I have never tried this so I can't say which service is the best.

I don't know why the links don't work for you guys I just checked and both work for me. For some reason I can't log into my photobucket account so I don't have any pics available. I thought the link would suffice.
So, Phuz, because I'm a fairly new member and haven't sold anything on here before that makes me a risk? I'm sure that at some point in time you only had 100 posts and no sale ranking either. We all have to start somewhere.

Yep, we all had to start somewhere....

However, we all don't come here trying to sell items for 6K off the bat. I don't think anyone here knows you from Adam, right?

BTW, you might want to go back and read the FM rules. You need to post pics, why would anyone just hand you that kind of money??

Not being rude, just trying to help you out a little here...

I have a friend who buys, sells, trades Panerai and Rolex watches. I'll let him know you have this up FS. Not sure if he's interested in this brand. If he's interested he may contact you but just flying into an audio board and posting a high end watch FS is a bit suspect.

watches that are worn everyday are worth alot less...do you see scratches?? they will bring down the price alot...
do you also have receipt of your purchase from an authorized dealer?? you might be better off selling to a dealer unless it's a well known brand like Rolex, Cartier, or any other

That sux. I bought a Breitling a couple of years ago, but I wear it daily so it is getting scratched up for sure. I hope the "not so bad" scratches can be buffed out.

And yea, I don't see anyone here paying 6k unless its some ridiculously nice pair of speakers from some company I've never heard of...

edit: But please do post pics, I'd love to see that specific watch up close.

If you are having trouble with your photobucket account, you can either open a new one or choose another photo hosting site. It's that easy.

BTW, when we select "Choose your country" and view "No.1", it's a freakin' series. How would one know which one the "one" was?

    QUOTE]

I am not interested in the watch, but I can tell you that for any used item (all the more so for one that is going for several k) I would definately insist on seeing updated photos before I even thought about the purchase.

For instance, when I'm looking for stuff on Audiogon, if a seller just links to a manufacturers photo I'll tend to skip over the item, unless its a great deal and then I'll take the time to shoot him/her an e-mail with a request for recent pics of the actual item for sale. Not picking on you, just giving you an idea of how I approach the purchase of a used item, from a buyer's point of view.

Not sure of why I'm bothering to do this. Everyone seems to have something to say about a listing for a watch that they have no interest in buying. The links above still work for me and if you had trouble with it, it's not that hard to figure out that the end of the link is the model number for the watch.
No where in my listing say that the watch was worn everyday. I bought it and wore it for about two months and put it away. I then sent it in to have the movement serviced, case polished and a new strap put on in order to sell. When I got the watch back from service I put it in the box and that's where it's been since.
For your viewing pleasure I opened a new photobucket account so I can post a picture for you.

Thanks for all the wonderful advice you folks have offered. Maybe from now on, read the friggin post before you make comments that are not relevant. I'm done with this thread and sorry I ever started it.

Wow very professional looking photo, you should sell it to the company it would make a good stock photo.

IMO someone with 0 feedback and 100 or so posts with only a few months on the board trying to sell a $6k item without even a picture sounds like a scam to me. Now it probably isn't, but many here look out for our own.

The first step to prove this is legit is to take actual close up photos of the watch that you have. Maybe have a piece of paper or something in the pick that says "SBrown712" to prove they are yours. Just doing that should help you immensely to sell this.

I would probably do like the seller did, put it in a drawer in fear of it getting damaged or stolen. So, what good would that be?
