Thanks to a great Karma offering (and win), a lucky find at a local good will, and the generosity of a semi-local polkie, I was able to put together a decent "garage rig" while I worked on my basement. The setup was crap (with the integrated balanced on a TV, horrid use of free with the DVD player cables, and speakers shoved against a wall) and the room very crowded (with the only seating about 2' from the speakers), but they worked ok.

Fast forward to now, basement still not done, but found out my niece is going to live with us for the summer while she works at the autism camp my kids attend. (My niece will be a senior next year getting her degree in special education)

My wife and I got to work cleaning up part of the basement so she has a place to stay that feels at least a little homey as well as a space she can retreat to when she needs to get away from us and our kids... This is what we ended up with and my "garage rig" is now looking alot more like a real 2 channel system. With the added space, the sound has really opened up and I am enjoying the heck out of it. (until the niece shows up and I don't get to listen for about 6 weeks)

I would like special thanks to go out to DKG999 for the stands for my Monitor 10's and George Daniel for the great Karma of his Adcom integrated.

This is the room we ended up with and except for moving out the bed, I am tempted to keep it pretty much in this state. (ok, more drywall and some pait, but you get the idea)...
