Harvey Korman dies 4 months after aneurysm
By BOB THOMAS, Associated Press Writer
1 hour and 41 minutes ago

Harvey Korman, the tall, versatile comedian who won four Emmys for his outrageously funny contributions to "The Carol Burnett Show" and played a conniving politician to hilarious effect in "Blazing Saddles," died Thursday. He was 81.

Korman died at UCLA Medical Center after suffering complications from the rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm four months ago, his family said. He had undergone several major operations.

"He was a brilliant comedian and a brilliant father," daughter Kate Korman said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "He had a very good sense of humor in real life. "

My family used to be pretty strict about the amount of television that we watched as kids. The best nights were when we would watch The Muppets and The Carol Burnet Show. Harvey Korman and Tim Conway together were comedy magic. RIP.

He made the Carol Burnett show. Well him and Tim Conway. Both those were hillarious. I'm gonna miss his brand of comedy.

RIP--- Harvey's interaction with Tim Conway was genius. I grew up watching the Carol Burnett show and even now when I watch the re-runs I laugh my **** off. That was one of the best variety shows on TV along with The Flip Wilson show. The fact that it was live and that they were always improvising made it great television.

I'll raise a glass to Mr. Korman :(

Some of the funniest unrehearsed TV was watching Harvey crack up because of something Tim Conway was improvising. The wife and I automatically stop and watch the Carol Burnett show reruns just because the humor was such high quality.

IMO, the best skit on the Carol Burnett show, was Lyle wagner was a POW, and Harvey & Tim were German interigators. Conway started improvising with a hand puppet, and Korman & Wagner were totally LOSING it live. Korman couldn't even face the audience, he was just shaking with laughter.
    He is missed.

Harvey plays second banana in the famous Dentist sketch, but his reactions make it priceless.
