I am so pleased to have gotten juiced up with SDA's. This weekend i got my pair of SDA SRS 2's delivered and hooked up. Boy do they make my place come alive. I had to do some sound checks to see what my neighbors might be feeling. Totally pleased that all drivers are working. Now I have the entertaining task of balancing the room for the SDA 1A's and RTA 12B's. I've only been tuned onto Polk Audio in the last 4 months and have found 3 excellent pairs of speakers. I started with the 12B's and grew up quickly from there. I could not be satisfied with just one pair when getting all 3 fit into my budget. All total they were picked up from independent sources for $722 + shipping. I spent this entire Memorial weekend listening to music. My system now includes a Yamaha CX-830 Preamp, Acurus A-250 Amp, Crown Ps-400 Amp, AudioSource Amp 3. Future growth includes an Anthem MCA 20(needs repair), Supplemental items for comparison include Sansui SP-5500x speakers, Advent Loudspeakers(2 pairs). Now i have to rethink most of my CD collection. Should be entertaining.

Welcome to Club Polk. If you plan on using mono amps you need a special cable to work with SDA's. SDA's require common ground amplification.
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Get ready to start modding crossovers ;-) Welcome aboard!Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Nice grab on the SRS 2s; those are the next speakers on my list. What are you powering speakers with?

dude, don't mono the crowns. like others said, you need common ground amplification unless you have a certain cable.
that said, the SRS 2's arent as power hungry as you might think. try some different amplification on those bad boys. Crown makes Badass pro amps from what i can tell, but for the SDA's, they might not be the right fit.
by the way, Polk RTA-12's started many an audio hobbyists path. they certainly did for me welcome to the club.
