Hi,

I am new to this site but not new to Polk Audio speakers. I bought a pair of SDA 1C Studios brand new in 1988, could have been '87. I love them!!

Anyways, I am not a real techie type, mostly just a listener. I hope to learn a few things here. There lots to be a wealth of knowledge on this site.

I am pretty familiar with the search feature in Vbulletin, so I will search first and ask questions later. :D

Welcome. We'll make sure you learn.....how to upgrade your tweeters and crossovers.

You have a great pair of speakers (but they could get better..);)

Hey there Ivorytooth. I am just down the road in Meridian, if you have any questions about the SDA's or want to see a pair of SRS 2.3's that are freshly upgraded, let me know.

    Welcome to Club Polk NW.

Those SDA-1Cs are great speakers, but like Ricardo says, they have lots of potential. Read up on the crossover mods.

I might take you up on that offer. :) The only SDAs I have ever heard are the ones I own. :D Thanks so much for your offer to help.

Let's hope we take the WAC BAC this year. :D

Thanks! I have been reading up on the mods. I know some stuff about electronics, but don't really do much with it. I have taken classes and courses when I was younger. Been a long time since I held an ohmmeter or multimeter. :D I know enough to be dangerous I guess. Never got into audio too heavy other than I love music. I am mainly a music collector. I grew up without a TV so reading and listening to music was where it was at. :D

I do know how to solder though. :D

Cool.... I just figured if you are contemplating the crossover/tweeter upgrade you can hear what the finished product sounds like.

Also, if you've never worked on crossovers before, I have a nice little soldering station set up in my garage.

    Go Bronoco's!!!
