You just gotta just rub it in...

Coffee about 4-5 cups, black sometimes with cream/sugar with WAWA but only had it on a trip I was on otherwise it's Maxwell House or Taster Choice.

There, I fixed it for you!

Yeah, y'all can only imagine the awesomestness of Wawa. Think of a 7-Eleven at a factor of about 12 and a half. Yeah, THAT awesome!

And Wawa is an American Indian word meaning goose. Specifically from the Ojibwe people that speak/spoke the Anishinaabe language. Essentially, a Wawa is a Canadian goose. But the name for the stores apparently came from the town of Wawa where the headquarters for the Wawa Dairy is located.

Wawa is a way of life around here. I dunno what I would do without them. Up until the gas prices started skyrocketing, you could walk into a Wawa with $5 and walk out with a meal and change! A shortie hoagie was $2, a half gallon of Iced Tea was $1.39 and would last you all day and you could get two soft pretzels for $.65 and a Tastykake pie of $.50 which totaled with tax $4.86.

Hmph, I can't imagine getting that excited for a convenience store, but OK :)

They haven't made their way this far north, apparently.

I'll say again, Wawa is a way of life around here.

You don't understand how much of a cultural impact there is here because of Wawa. Other stores offer lotsa stuff but nothing like a Wawa. Every time I travel out of the area, it's a total drag because you can never find a store that is open late and if it is, it's a 7-Eleven run by a dude that can barely speak English and is cutting corners everywhere to save a nickel. I've been on travel in other parts of the country and you can always find someone from the this area by just saying "Gawd damn! Can't I get an 'effin Wawa?" I have always heard someone nearby say "Yeah, I know, right?"

The fact that one of the requirements of "You know you are from South Jersey if..." is "You know the location of at least 14 Wawa's within 5 miles of your house". They permeate the area better than anything else.

But you'd have to be from the area to understand. amulford gets it 'cause he lives here and does a bunch of local traveling for his job. Wawa is a godsend when you are going racing and you're pulling out of the garage at 6 am and everybody wants coffee and you need bags of ice.

If Wawa sold booze, they'd be the perfect store.

Sounds like the fanaticism is tantamount to that of Dunkin Donuts in the farther reaches of the Northeast.

Try leaving at 4:30 am, getting a hot FRESH cup close to the house, having it while you drive 50 to 75 miles and then being able to refill when you get close to the job.

While you're getting your refill, you order your lunch and proceed to get your coffee. Pick it up and pay, then head on out.

If your a bachelor, you can't live without WaWa...

No kidding about the booze, at least beer...

Dunkin' Donuts has a pretty good following around here too.

Between Wawa and Dunkin' Donuts, I'm not surprised that this area has one of the lowest densities of Starbucks in the north east.

I still prefer 7-11 coffee to Wawa and Dunkin D's.
