Sansui TU-517 AM/FM Stereo Tuner $150 Shipped SOLD
You probably know the excellent reputation of this tuner which was made in the late 70's during the stereo wars. Along w/its only slightly higher rated older brother (TU 717), these tuners are highly regarded for their excellent tonal quality, terrific reception, stout build and clean looks. They're a favorite for those who like to mod them as well.
This one's in great condition - I'd give it a 7 or 8 out of 10 on the audiogon scale. All lights function perfectly as do the switches, meters and dials. There are a few light scuffs on the top and a some tiny spots on the metal face that can only be seen in perfect light - I've never noticed them unless I'm looking for them. There's also a minute amount of fuzz along the bottom of the dial that can be easily removed. So the unit looks nice & performs great. All connections and switches have been treated w/Caig products.
Specifications
Usable Sensitivity - 9.8 dBf mono, 19.0 dBf
Signal to Noise Ratio - 82 dB mono, 78 dB stereo
Distortion - Less than 0.06% at 1000 Hz in Wide Mode
Image Response Ratio - 85 dB (at 98 Mhz)
Spurious Response Ratio - 90 dB (at 98 Mhz)
Stereo Separation - 48 dB at 1000 Hz
Frequency Response - 30 to 15,000 Hz +0.2 dB -1.0 dB
This has been a great performer for me, but other audio purchases force me to sell. PM or email me w/any questions you have & I'll be happy to respond.
