TrueHD and DTS-MA/HD are "optional" tracks for Bluray disc.

The PS3 can only decode these and send these as PCM to your avr over HDMI.

If you only connect the optical connections from your PS3 to your avr, then the audio outputs will revert to the DD or DTS 'lossy' core audio tracks.

If you want to take advantage of the optional lossless audio tracks on Bluray discs ('uncompressed' PCM, TrueHD, DTS-MA/HD) then you'll have to hook up your PS3 with HDMI - and your AVR has to have HDMI inputs.

    Hope that helps,
    Erik

Not only HDMI, but HDMI v1.3 or above. The previous versions of HDMI do not support DTS-HD or TrueHD over the HDMI link.

I did not see HDMI hookups on your AVR so that's why I only mentioned optical as the way to go. Eric is right that the only way right now to get "TrueHD and DTS-MA/HD" is through HDMI into a receiver that can decode TrueHD and DTS-MA/HD.
