SDA-2b problem.Left mid in both arent working.

Hi everyone.I just got my adcom 565s back and hooked up and the left driver in each speaker dont seem to be working.I do not have the interconnect cable attached yet so would that be the problem?? I cant use it yet because I dont have my multimeter yet.(Have to get the common ground set up first)Im planning on ordering a RDO194 this weekend and just might need two mids too.Can anyone tell me which drivers are the stero and the dimensional in each speaker? IE:Left channel--Is the stereo the left or right driver. And right channel is it the left or right driver.

Inner drivers are stereo, and outer drivers are dimensional. Is it the outers that are out?

No its the LEFT driver in Both speaker.I pulled the right driver in both and pulled one wire off just to make sure and nothing was comming out of the left ones I cant believe All these problems.First all the grill guides get broken off in shipping,then I have to spend 500+ to get my 565s and preamp repaired and now Im gonna have to spend even more possibly to replace drivers.Is it okay to swap the inner and outer to check.

Can you check the drivers with an ohm meter?

The stereo and dimensional drivers are different P/Ns in the 2Bs. It probably won't do any harm as a troubleshooting device, but don't leave them that way.

Cheap meter substitue trick. Use a AA battery across the driver terminals. If the cone moves, you probably have a driver.

i think you need the SDA cable between the speakers for the driver to work.. once you get the cable.. then check to see if they are all working or not. then go from there.

If you don't have the SDA cable, two mid drivers should definitely not be working. If the non-working driver is the left one on both speakers, it means someone put one of them back together backwards. Also possible that they have the wrong drivers connected as stereo vs. dimensional. But with no SDA cable you should be expecting to see one driver non-operational in each speaker.

Late last night I finally got the cable hooked up.I had to get the common ground cable set up first and check with mm to make sure I had a common ground before hooking up the interconnect.The left channel now works fine but the right channel inner is still not working.Im going to check the leads later.As far as the drivers there are no model #s on the back of them for some reason.Just dates.Is ther another way to tell the difference between stereo & dimensional??

Look closely for the model #. It will be MW65XX in small lettering. Printed not stamped. Push lighty on the cone of the bad driver. Is it frozen? The wires to the dimensional are color coded. I would not venture to say that the colors are standard, however your outboard speakers should have the same color wires in each speaker. You can also trace the wires back to the plugs on the crossover cards.
