TT Advice: Thinking about Upgrading from Pro-Ject Xpression

Looking for advice on a TT upgrade. I currently have a Pro-Ject Xpression with a Sumiko Blue Point No. 2 and a Speedbox. I might be able to get a good deal on a Pro-Ject RM9 and Dynavector 10x5. Would like to hear any comments on that table, other tables, or wherever else I should be looking to experience a signficant step up. Budget is under $2,000, but would prefer around $1000, if possible.
Also considering a new phono pre, but not at the same time. I am currently using a Graham Slee Special Edition. I have my eye on the PS Audio GCPH because I love the other PS Audio gear I'm running in my system and imagine there would be good synergy.
Should I invest in the phono pre before I upgrade the table? Where will I see a bigger improvement?
Thanks, any comments are appreciated.

I've heard the RM 9 and have owned the 10 X 5. For under $2K I think you can do better as far as the TT goes. You should check your driving distance area for some used TTs. You can get some really used high quality tables for that kind of dough.
Check with Steve Monte at Quest for Sound, He will steer you in the right direction and give you a great deal. Just mention that me or Phil sent you to him and he'll take good care of you.
