I've been using my AVR as a pre/pro for so long I've misplaced the U shape jumpers that came with it. If you've got any extra laying around I'd like to talk, I need 5 total. Assuming they're a standard size, but if not they're going on an HK AVR 520.

Could you find some solid core wire about the same size and make your own? I feel like that would be pretty cheap.

Good idea. I am literally tripping over 12/2 in my kitchen right now. I'd still like to have some factory ones, though.

    thanks,

    Ben

Audioquest has a not-to-cheap and audiophile version.

Futurlec has plain metal ones for .30 each.

It's always good to have stuff like that handy.

Viper - Thanks for the Kimber link, I like those.

Ben - I have a bag full. If you name your first born child after me....
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Believe it or not, a lot of those U-jumpers are not uniform. Not every set fits every set of females. Pulling a set out of a NAD doesn't mean it's going to fit into a Carver, and a whole lot of other combos.

Just use a decent, short pair of interconnects.

I've found that to be more of a problem wth vintage gear tho' George. Most of the modern stuff I've seen is pretty standard so far. I'm sure I'll find the needle in a haystack now that you mentioned it....thanks.

My pleasure! I thought if I waved my magic wand over the post it would help immensely. That's why I'm here.

You guys are A-Ok. Mark, I'll send you a she-mail here shortly. Are you thinking Doro, Dorokusai, Mark, or some combination thereof? I just want to have my ducks in a row when I inform my wife of my decision. I'm certain we can work something out.

Ben - I'm still waiting for my email....guess you have fallen out of love with me and MillerLiteScott is the other man. Damn you Scott! :)

Just FYI....for those that are interested. I picked up a set of the Kimber jumpers linked earlier by ViperZ. They are wonderful and very well made. I've since ordered 4 more pairs from John, to replace the jumpers on my Magnepan. If you're looking for something neat or a nice tweak....it's certainly an idea.

Doro, have you noticed a difference with the Kimber jumpers?

I have no idea at the moment since there's only one speaker setup so far....I'm currently hobbled. I don't expect a huge transition and I never bumped the jumpers in my previous Magnepans. It's a novelty tweak for most folks but I figure if I can offer the best path to B possible, it's for the greater good.

I've noticed benefits from other kinds of jumpers, speaker level in particular, and I'm just rolling that into this idea. Sorry if that doesn't start a fire but it's honest.
