Just got a pair of SDA-1B's finished that I bought over a year ago (side grill panels delaminated)...anyone have a single foot? Havent' hooked them up but I had a question...can I hook my Samsung HD-841 (DVD, CD, SACD player) straight into my Adcom GFA-555 power amp to drive the SDAs thus eliminating the need for a preamp? I've heard that CD players alone don't have enough gain to sufficiently drive a power amp or something like that. Presently, the Samsung is running thru a preamp in another system...believe I remember the Samsung has a level control. If it can be done, anyone run their SDAs in this configuration (CD player straight into power amp)?...what's it sound like?..here are a few photos...thanks.

If the player has variable output, it should do fine running into the amplifier...typically. I have a Denon CD changer with variable output that I run directly into a rebuilt Magnavox console tube amp that's on a pair of large Altec horn speakers. It has puh-lenty of gain....but then again, the speakers are around 97db+ on the sensitivity side.
What do you mean by a single foot? I guess my SRS II's don't have feet that I know of!Richard? Who's your favorite Little Rascal? Alfalfa? Or is it........................Spanky?.................................Sinner. -
Thanks for the reply...I'll give it a try and post the results.
Should have been more specific about the foot...there are 4 small plastic feet nailed to the bottom or each cabinet (they are the color of a Barbie doll's skin)...one of these is missing...right now, I'm going to use 6 tip toes under them as the room is carpeted...but in case I do use them on an uncarpeted surface, I'd like to get an original foot that matches the other 7. -
