NAD C325BEE Integrated Amplifier - Grey - 9/10 - $325

I've had this as my computer rig for about 6 months. It's played email jingles, AIM message beeps and some other nonsense but otherwise is about as underdriven as you will ever find. I'm the original owner, it's flawless and 100% original. If you have an iPod or similar device, the mini-jack on the front panel is pretty useful.

I moved onto active loudspeakers so this would just end up being a monitor stand, and that's silly.

Here's some NAD information:

"The C320BEE and its predecessors has been the benchmark for budget amplifiers for 30 years now, having won every award in the Hi-Fi industry several times over. Making the C325BEE better than the C320BEE was a tall order! By “trickling down” several innovations from NAD’s new state-of-the-art Masters Series products has resulted in the C325BEE having even less distortion, less noise, and a more detailed rendition of the musical recording.

New DC Servo eliminates sound colouring capacitors in the signal path. This improves musical detail and eliminates harmful loudspeaker ‘offset’.
Patented distortion canceling circuit uses both feedback and feed forward to reduce distortion and improve amplifier stability.
Highly optimised circuit layout further lowers internal impedance, improves grounding, and eliminates subtle magnetic distortions. Lower noise and distortion, and improved channel separation are a direct result of this optimisation.
Surface mount (SMD) technology shortens signal paths and lowers distortion in NAD's proprietary Class A gain modules.
BEE Clamp improves HF stability when driving difficult speakers.
Volume Control has minimum volume cancellation circuit to increase attenuation by 10dB.
Tone controls are hand trimmed for perfect response characteristics.
A new idling current circuit is more accurate with less unit-to-unit variation.
More rigid chassis has improved mechanical integrity.
MP Input for easy connection of iPod™, MP3 and other Media Players employing 3.5mm headphone sockets."

Continuous average power output into 8ohms 50W (17dBW)
Rated distortion (THD 20Hz-20kHz) 0.02%
Clipping power (max cont. power/channel) 68W (18dBW)
IHF dynamic headroom at 8ohms +3.4dB
IHF dynamic power 8 ohms 110W (20.41dBW)
4 ohms 160W (22.04dBW)
2 ohms 210W (23.2dBW)
Damping factor >160
Frequency response 20Hz-20kHz ±0.2dB
3Hz/70kHz ±0.1dB
Input impedance R and C 20k ohm / 470pF
Input sensitivity (for rated output into 8 ohms) 730mV
Voltage gain 29dB
Signal to noise ratio, A-weighted ref. 1W >-100dB
ref. rated power >-117dB

    Doro,

    Would this look stupid? Here's the idea . . . MIT AVT2s - $235, Polk Lsi7 - $350, NAD 325BEE - $325 . . . what should I do for a CDP? Sell me on this integrated Mark.

If anything, it sounds like a helluva rig. Both the LSi and NAD are often referred to as warm or laid back and that would be my opinion as well. That being said, it doesn't mean the combination will result in something that isn't dynamic or lacking detail....quite the contrary. I'd rather sacrifice some high end sizzle for a lush midrange, vocal details and a tight **** end. It's everything that I would look for in a European rig and is the tonality I look for personally.

CDP? Hmmmm, you could go anywhere with that choice since you have all the warmth you need with the other choices. You could probably save some money and pick up a vintage Sony ES, which would be my budget choice but don't go overboard is my point.

I think tubes, anywhere, would be overdoing it but that's your call.

How will this drive my Lsi7s in a room about 10W X 12L X 15H? Does this have enough power? I owned a C272 and know that the amp drove way above its advertised wattage.

Do you really need me to answer that? The amp section is rated into 2ohms and I know you're no spring chicken to audio.

I'm not sure when the LSi7 became a hard load to drive. Most ppl think too much....it's a bookshelf, who cares about 4ohm at that point?

Haha, fair enough. Ok, I'll take the damn thing. Now all I got to do is find an cdp under $100 or so and I have the best damn system I have ever owned under $1,000.

OK, thanks Mike. I'll crawl into the attic and get the box.

As a bonus, you get some Audioquest pre-out jumpers for the backside since I can't seem to find the stock ones.

    That's why you're a good guy Mark.

On a side note, what happened to your seller number? Shouldn't you be around 200?

Found the jumpers . . . . . . . My girlfriend mistook the packaging as spare parts and stuck them in my miscellaneous drawer. Sorry for the confusion. The unit sounds amazing.
