Interconnect Recc'dations

Per Early B & ben62670's advice I purchased Audioquest Type 6 speaker cables to run from speakers -> Amp.... -thanks guys.

On the assumption that sound out will be based on weakest link in chain - I'll probably want better aud interconnects to run from Amp to Receiver
(EGADs does this never stop - I'll blame you all when I end up in debtors prison)

I know most of you are fans of Blue Jeans and Signal... any specific cables you'd reccomend? (I prefer Reasonably flexible stuff that doesn't require Schwartzenegger to disconnect) And really would like some cash left over to feed my dog.
LR Setup:
Polk RTi10's, RTi6's, CSiA6 (5 ch setup)
Onkyo 705 & Denon 3808ci Receiver, Onk 875
Parasound 2250 Amp
Sony 26" KDL series Bravia LCD
Panny DMR-EH75 Recorder
Panny DVD-F87 (5 disk DVD player)
NAD T585 (DVD/SACD)
Yamaha DVD-C961 (5 disk SACD/DVD)
SciAnt Explorer 8500HD Cable Box
Orig & 5Gen iPods, , Wii

Plans/Fantasies:
• 400 disk player that handles ALL formats, sounds as good as NAD with Panasonic interface & compatability.

I like cables from Signal and have them in my entire HT system. I guess it boils down to how much $ do you want to spend. What about IC's from Audioquest seeing that you have their speaker cables.

Get some of these in the appropriate lengths, and you won't have to worry about handling them carefully as Steve suggests, because they are actually made very well:

Ever wonder why Audioquest names all their interconnects after snakes?

Why not allow the new owner to enjoy what they just purchased?

If this turns into a big debate, the thread will be pruned again. If Xandra requests some counterpoint arguments, so be it but for now....
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I fixed it for ya. But he did ask for a suggestion, and the one I recommended meets all his requirements, very flexable, and no death grip.

'Eff the damn dog. Feed your audio system.;)

Signal cable would be fine. No need to spend big bucks on cables for your particular HT system. This stuff gets expensive very quickly.

It is a matter of personal preference. I personally use Signal Cable Analog 2's throughout. For the money, you would be hard pressed to find a better performing cable with the build quality and asthetics of Signal. Add to that excellent customer service, Club Polk discount (usually around 5%, which basically covers shipping costs), and speedy turnaround you can't go wrong.

Belkin Pure AV silver series interconnect kits are worth a look. Even the Blue series. Both are great values.

I have had great sucess with Audioquest interconnects - Diamondback and Copperhead. Their are some lesser priced nice cables available which I found to be very good. Ultralink Audiophile, and Belkin PureAv. A couple of Amazon links are below so you can see the cables I am referring to. Good luck.

    Hi,

I've just gone through this same process. For many years, I just used the stock RCA cable that comes with your components (I didn't know any better). I then decided to make a relatively inexpensive upgrade for my 2 channel system -- I ordered a Dayton RCA cable ($13 plus 5.99 shipping/order, I think) from Parts Express a few months ago. This yielded a small improvement. But then I upgraded my speakers from Advent Baby IIs to Polk Lsi9s and Cd player from an early 1990s Sony to Marantz CD5001. So, just for fun I took the 4ft Belkin PureAV Silver series RCA cables that had been in our Home Theater set-up and asked my wife (who has pretty good ears) to help me with a blind test. But I asked her to do the listening (as I switched the cord -- she turned her back but either way she had no idea of these two brands). She noticed a very clear difference. I don't know all of the musical jargon (smooth, transparent, whatever you want to say) to use, but the point is just that the sound was noticeably fuller and better with the Belkin. So, since 2 channel audio is more important to me, I left the Belkin PureAV Silver Series RCA in my 2 channel rig and relegated the Dayton RCA to Home Theater duties. Well, I just ordered a Parasound Halo A23 to take the place of my Yamaha AVR (internal amp) and after fielding some advice on this forum I decided to go ahead and give the SignalCable Analog IIs a try (I needed to buy one to connect the PRE to the amp anyway, so I just went ahead and ordered two for the chain. As someone may have mentioned, they come with a 30-day money back guarantee. So, once I have them burned in -- most say this takes about a week -- I will go back and do some direct comparison with the Belkin PureAV Silver Series. My amp is supposed to arrive on Tuesday and the SC analog IIs perhaps a day or two later. After I compare, I plan to post my results on this forum.

If you're really watching your budget and you want an excellent cable for the money, I can recommend the Belkin PureAV Silver series (currently $22 on Amazon, and if you add another item that totals $25 or more you get free shipping). The Analog IIs are priced at about 2.5X that amount ($55 per 3' cable), but, given the 30-day return policy (which Blue Jeans has as well) and the advice at CP, I thought it would be worth a try. I seriously doubt I'm going to try anything more expensive than this in the future. If multi-hundred dollar cables really do offer benefits, I seriously doubt they would do so with my modest system.

Thanks all for the suggestions, I think Norm summed up my state of mind: which is getting the most out of what I have (mid-fi equipment/lousy acoustical setting) BUT:
I seriously doubt I'm going to try anything more expensive than this [Signal's Analog II] in the future. If multi-hundred dollar cables really do offer benefits, I seriously doubt they would do so with my modest system.

The day I purchase Bryston Amps, Clauss CD players etc... I might reconsider.

Anyway: found all your responses VERY helpful.
