Forum Web Changes

Justin,

Personally I like the web changes that have been recently made. The recent identifiers (For Sale, Karma ...) are softer on the eyes than the previous look. As well, the social groups, friends and contacts will hopefully add additional value for some. You cannot please everyone.

One thing I would like to see is the ability to sort the list of recent posts after I have clicked on "New Posts".
The headings "Thread / Thread Starter, Last Post, Replies, Views, Forum" could be live sorting mechanisms. In other words, once I click on "New Posts" I could then click on any of the headings to obtain a secondary sort in addition to my initial primary sort. Just a thought.

Anyway, nice job on the forum so far. I for one like the changes as web sites get very stale after a period of time.
Michael ;)

They look sweet Justin. Keep up the good work!

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

    No excuses!

Well, I don't like the tags (These or the earlier ones)...I think they are very distractive. Good work though in all the upgrades ;)

I liked the more subtle tags more than these.

Ok, I do have one real gripe.

I don't like how people can still read our original posts after it was edited.

The tags in the flea market "For Sale" and "Wanted" are redundant but I do like the "Sold" tag as then you don't have to wade thru the post to see if it sold.

The other tags I could take or leave. The "News", "Help Needed", tags, etc. are really just another thing to muddle up the opening page. But, if they work for the majority then great.

Maybe on some of them, you could use abbreviations or something shorter like FS instead of For Sale, WTB instead of Wanted or whatever everyone wants.

Does anyone want to see the clubhouse broken out into a few more categories/rooms like 1. News, 2. Opinions, 3. Sports, etc instead of more prefixes?

No, IMO we have a perfect number of Forums and sub forums. Too many becomes tedious. Plus most of the stuff in the Clubhouse needs to make it's way off the main page pretty quickly, which is the case now.

The tags make the place look like a tacky whorehouse.

I like most of the changes, but I really dislike the way pictures are resized and displayed now. When lookoing at a pic in the for sale section for instance, I like to see all the original detail.

I like the tags because, like many, I mostly use the "New Posts" function.

You can still do it if you click on the picture once more in the new display

It is a little much. I lost most of my feedback, too. That needs to get rectified, or I'm goin' for some ****...;)

I like some of the new stuff. I never noticed there was a "Friend" list. I don't know how long the requests have been in my box, but three people want me on their "Friend" list. Three people whose posts I can actually stand to read! What do you figure the odds of that ever happening again are?

These are VERY exciting times here at Club Polk.

I like all of the forum changes including the easier to read identifiers. The only one that is going to take me a while to get used to is the picture display.

Question. If you do not belong to a specific social group and you look at the profile of someone who does belong to that group, can you read the conversations between the members of the group.
Answer YES. I think this you be changed.

How about a SFS (Still For Sale) prefix :)

    TT for turntable discussion.

SDA for sda sales or discussion.

    CL for craigslist sales.

    EBAY for ebay sales.

    etc.

Also it might be a good compromise to those that don't like them to put them in plain non-bold text with no colors lilke we've been doing already (FS:, WTB:, etc)
